Similar questions always come up for new parents, so we answer the most frequently asked here.

1) How does the school dinner system work?

Children can stay for school lunches which cost £2.10 per day. The office needs half a terms notice if your child wishes to start or stop school lunches. The options are:

  • Staying for hot lunches 5 days per week
  • Staying for hot lunches on Fridays only
  • Packed lunches all week

Dinner accounts should be paid for on Parent Pay. The amount for the full term will be posted on ParentPay at the beginning of each term. Payments can be made whenever is convenient all we ask is that accounts are kept up to date. Accounts are updated every Monday for the previous week.

2) What is Parent Pay and how does it work?

ParentPay is an electronic system that the school uses to pay for school lunches and trips. When your child starts school you will be sent a letter that has a username and password on it with instructions on how to enrol on ParentPay. You can check your balances and keep up to date with what is due for payment. Mrs Holmes can help if you have any problems with the system.

3) What happens when there is a school trip?

Parents will be sent a letter giving details of a school trip that is due to take place. The letter will inform parents of the following:

  • Day and date
  • Why the trip is happening
  • Where the trip will be going to
  • Timings
  • The amount to be paid on ParentPay
  • Consent form to be handed back

4) What is the texting service?

We will use the main mobile number given to us by parents to send out messages by our texting service. This will be such things as club cancellations, school closures or events due to happen in school.

5) What can be found on our school website?

The school website holds a lot of information which you may need to know regarding school. The website is www.carletonendowedprimary.org.uk

6) What is the PTA and who can join?

7) When are Parent Evenings held and how are they organised? 

The school holds two Parents Evenings twice a year. The appointment system is based on first come first served and therefore it is a good idea to return your forms as soon as possible. 

Once all the times have been allocated, appointment times will be posted in the school window and a text message will be sent out to make parents aware of this fact. 

8) Can I become a parent volunteer?
