Ilkley Toy Museum - Venus Class
This week, the children in Year Two really enjoyed enhancing their history curriculum work by visiting Ilkley Toy museum. They learnt all about toys from the past and how they can be both similar and different to toys they play with nowadays. They enjoyed handling old toys and observing the artefacts. Some of the toys have been loaned to Harewood House for their Christmas exhibition! Many thanks to Sarah Williams for coming along to help.

Jupiter Class - Sustainability
You may have seen Jupiter Class out and about in Carleton earlier this week! On Monday afternoon, the class went for a walk around the village to complete some Geography fieldwork. As part of our Sustainability topic, they discussed ways that people try to live more sustainably, such as through using solar panels for energy and recycling waste. Space Dome Planetarium Visit
The children all had an absolutely fantastic experience in the space dome yesterday. Dennis, who led the sessions, was really knowledgeable and took the children on a journey through the furthest reaches of our solar system. The children were absolutely buzzing when they came out, and staff were amazed by how much children from right across the school had learned. A huge thankyou to the Friends of the school for subsidising this brilliant event.
