Admissions Information

Carleton Endowed Primary School is a Church of England School and seeks to serve the Carleton community and those who wish to apply from the surrounding area.
Leeds Diocesan Learning Trust is the admissions authority and is responsible for admissions. Applications are made through the local authority.
We are an inclusive school that welcomes children from all faiths and of all backgrounds and abilities and all applications will be treated fairly and objectively according to our admissions criteria.
The school will endeavour to accept all children where parents make application for them to attend up to the maximum admission level. The Planned Admissions Number (PAN) is 30. If the number of applications exceeds this maximum, preference will be given in accordance with the over subscription criteria set out in the schools Admission Policy.

Starting School
Children are invited in for three morning sessions over consecutive weeks in the term before they start school. In these sessions the children get to know all the other children, the staff, the layout of the school and become familiar with some of the school routines.Children generally start school in September. If parents have a particular concern, specific arrangements can be made , until confidence and maturity have grown. On entry the children join the Reception stage of the Infant class, progressing later through years 1 and 2. The infant class is taught by Mrs Feeney, with Teaching Assistant support.
The infant classroom is part of our fabulous extension and provides the infants with the light , airy and spacious room with far reaching views across Carleton and other local areas. There is a large outside area and a covered area under a canopy as well as a quiet activity area.
