At Carleton Endowed Primary School our curriculum is designed to build children's knowledge and help them know more and remember more.
The curriculum recognises children’s prior learning, provides first hand learning experiences, allows the children to develop interpersonal skills, build resilience and confidence, become creative, critical thinkers, have aspiration and achievement, open children's eyes to the world beyond their immediate experience and have the opportunity to flourish.
Every child at our school is recognised as a unique individual. We celebrate and welcome differences within our school community. The ability to learn is underpinned by the teaching of knowledge, vocabulary, basic skills concepts and our five key Christian values of peace, friendship, thankfulness, endurance and trust.
We provide a wide variety of enhancement opportunities to engage learning and believe that childhood should be a happy, investigative and enquiring time in our lives where there are no limits to curiosity and there is a thirst for new experiences and knowledge.
As a school we promote positive attitudes to learning which reflect the values and skills needed to promote responsibility for learning and future success.
Community involvement is an essential part of our curriculum as we celebrate local traditions, learning new skills to enable the children to take an active role in events throughout the year in local, national and global initiatives.
Through our Christian faith, we acknowledge our responsibility to all, to enrich lives and show love and respect within our school family. This is rooted in our Mission Statement;
Our school provides a foundation for all to flourish rooted in the person and work of Jesus; built upon Christian values encouraging aspirational achievement.
Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock
Parable of the Wise and the Foolish Builders from Matthew 7:24-27
